Dr. Jones and you have determined that surgery is your option, our nurses will schedule the procedure at the facility which participates with your insurance.

Most surgeries require that the patient be "cleared" by their Primary Care Physician (PCP) which will require an appointment with your PCP. At that time he/she will examine you, possibly perform an EKG, request labs and X-Rays. Based on the results of that data, your PCP will determine if it is safe to proceed with your surgery plans.

Surgeons compete to schedule patients to the operating rooms in the hospitals and surgery centers. Once we have scheduled the time and place of your surgery, we will need to proceed with pre-operative procedures. These procedures consist of two parts, one at the hospital for labs, radiology if needed and registration. The other pre-op is at our office. Here you will sign your consents and ask any last minute questions of Dr. Jones. You will receive by mail a "surgery information pack" which will include your scheduled time and place and pertinent instructions that need to be followed 24 hours prior to your surgery.
